Thirimanne seems to have done alright. Maybe he deserves a test cap. Mendis too.

Nah, neither ATM. Parnavithana never got an easy opening attack like this to play. He has made starts, but failed to last long. Deserves another series. He may score big in this.

Mendis is not the best spinner in SL. Murali > Senanayake > Randiv > Herath > Mendis is the order.

SL win or a draw in the series.Zaheer averaged in mid 40s last time in SL so he will be missed by SL more than the indians.

Yuvraj selection ahead of Pujara baffling - Whatmore

"The team surely has some finest Test match players. But, where is Cheteshwar Pujara? I personally think he is a must in the team, especially considering his form. Yuvraj Singh ahead of Pujara is completely baffling. This is just the right time to bring him in," Whatmore told PTI.

I agree with Whatmore.

Will be very impressed if India takes 20 wickets with this bowling attack.

From cricinfo :

Nitin: "Why is Ishant tagged as right-arm-"fast". I mean, come on! That's the joke of the day. What would you then tag Tait? Right-arm-"express"?"

*Sigh* I have a bad feeling about this one. In the last few years our bowling has punched well about its weight, consistenly pulling off wins against good sides despite not looking that great on paper. This could be where it all ends especially without Zaheer to lead the attack. Let's hope our batting clicks though since the Lankan bowling isn't that great either particularly after Murali departs.

Dilshan once again falls to the shorter stuff. I think it is a calculated attempt by Indians to bowl the shorter stuff at him.
