Fast bowler survival round of 16

We're down to the business end of the Fast Bowler Survival contest. After a gruelling three rounds, sixteen fast bowlers are left. These sixteen will face off in a single elimination tournament. Players eliminated in the same round will be ranked in the final list by their seeding coming into this round.

Here are the sixteen remaining bowlers, and their seeding for this tournament:
  1. Richard Hadlee
  2. Malcolm Marshall
  3. Glenn McGrath
  4. Curtly Ambrose
  5. Imran Khan
  6. Waqar Younis
  7. Fred Trueman
  8. Sydney Barnes
  9. Dennis Lillee
  10. Wasim Akram
  11. Joel Garner
  12. Michael Holding
  13. Ray Lindwall
  14. Allan Davidson
  15. Allan Donald
  16. Harold Larwood

Please note that Syd Barnes and Dennis Lillee scored identical rankings, but Syd Barnes had more #1 votes in round 3 than Lillee did, hence the higher ranking.

Hadlee and Lillee.

The top seed is going to win each battle except for Lillee and possibly Akram beating Trueman.

The next rounds will probably be more interesting to be honest. Once we get down to the top 8 we may see some upsets.

The thing is, except possibly for Larwood, I agree with every player on that list being there, though maybe not in the order that they are.

I think Barnes is better than any other bowler by a margin but considering he got his wickets through leg breaks and was medium pace, Lillee is a better fast bowler.
