Whats the obession with trying to make cricket popular in the USA? If football, after all the money, time and effort, can only achieve number 5 sport in the USA what hope does cricket have?

Why waste time and money in promoting a lost cause in the USA when China is much much much much much much more promising?

Styris' effectiveness with the ball is generally a good indicator of how utterly piss poor a pitch is. This one's clearly a shocker.

going to be tough to get past Lacrosse, hillbilly nascar and even golf.
Oh, thats just team sports. Factor in NASCAR, Indy, golf, tennis and cricket will struggle to make the top 10.

America is not interested in cricket. Market the game to ex-pats and it will have a profitable and important television audience. But for Americans to start playing and following cricket as a major sport - no chance in hell. If a sport as terrible and dire as American HANDball is still vastly more popular than football, a sport so clearly superior to the idiocy of American "Football" then what hope does cricket have of making inroads into baseball, which is actually a pretty damn good sport?
