He's a c**** and a c********* and a turd, and I've definitely overpaid by a huge margin for him (top dollar this round, I'm gonna puke), but Shane Watson is unarguably one of the best ODI players of all time already, and provides beautiful balance to my side.

Probably bidded a bit excessively on Sangakkara and that now leaves me with a dilemna of who to throw the gloves to.

Got a very good ODI opener in Kirsten; and one who perfectly complements Jayasuriya's style of play. Kirsten is solid, but not defensive, keeps the scoreboard ticking always with the boundaries and singles. That's the kind of opening combination I was looking forward to. Good to have him in the team. I'm loving my team, and loving the money left in my kitty :)

Team so far:

Sanath Jayasuriya
Gary Kirsten
Mark Boucher
Shaun Pollock

Defintely Andy. Firstly, because Andy is the better keeper; and secondly, because Sangakkara is a much better batsman when he's not keeping.

But I agree, you've definitely overpaid Sangakkara way too much.

Yup Flower's currently my preference though my concern is that by playing Sangakkara as merely a batsman, that won't get me enough value for what I paid for him. Might have to run with that though.

Love the look of your team so far, by the way - so long as you don't get rain affected matches and D&L comes into play...

Delighted with getting Lara in the side. He was my highest bid that round, but was surprised that a couple of players went for more than I was willing to pay.

As an aside I find it odd that Lara's ODI record when batting in the top 3 is exceptional (average of 45.92, SR 81.93, 17 centuries) but when batting at 4-7 it is very mediocre (33.20 ave, 75.53 SR, just two hundreds). And he played almost an equal number of games in each category across his career. I know most players have preferred positions in the order, especially in limited overs cricket where I think it is more important as the positions have more well defined roles, but for such a class player I'd have thought he would adapt better to playing late in the innings.

Blakus

State Vice-Captain
Finally broke that run of Indians I was getting. If Hayden can emulate his WC 2007 form I'l be a very happy man.

Quite a lot of strong looking lineups so far I reckon. My favourites so far are either Noble One or G.I.Joe.

Yeah I reckon the quality of a team would have to be judged based on the remaining cash as well.

Perhaps weldone has done well with this in mind.
