Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
The Rules

For round one, you simply have to rank the bowlers in each group in order, with 1 being the best bowler and 5 or 6 being the worst (based on the number of bowlers).

Please only rank the players on their bowling ability.

Wild card entries will be evenly distributed among the eight groups for this round.

The bottom three players after 24 hours will be removed for groups that have six players and the bottom two players will be removed from groups that have five players.

Any loser in round 1 or 2 will get a shot at earning a wildcard reentry for round 3.

Groups are chosen randomly, except that the wildcards are spread evenly among the other groups.

Group A is a nightmare to select from. For the record I rate Barnes highly. I placed him at the bottom of the rankings based on my opinion that I don't consider him a pace bowler. Almost impossible to compare the likes of Barnes to any other player on the list.

Barnes
Ambrose
Waqar
Roberts
Bond
Reid

Group B

Lillee
Hadlee
Lindwall
Adcock

Nissar

Tough choices in both groups. Although I rate Hadlee as the greater cricketer as a bowler I give it to Lillee.

A is horrible. Might as well draw random numbers, impossible to rank.

Agree that it is really hard to know where to put Barnes in all of this, but as he is included then I am just going to rate him as a bowler and not define it.

Hadlee
Lillee
Lindwall
Adcock
Gillespie
Nissar

I have a feeling that group B will see Lillee, Hadlee and Lindwall all go through easily, but group A looks like it's going to be impossible to pick really.

Duh, but it'd be a hell of allot easier to copy and paste their name into the cricinfo search engine.

Is it possible for everyone in Group A to get a wildcard? I wouldn't lose any sleep if SF Barnes or Bruce Reid bowed out in the first round, but the others definately deserve to go through.

It's perfectly possible. At the end of round 2, everyone who was voted out in rounds 1 and 2 will get a shot at one of two wildcard entries into round 3.

Having said that, for someone to be eliminated in round 1 and then make it to the top 16 will be a feat. There will be some 29 bowlers eliminated by then.
