I think each team gets to 'keep' upto three players if they want (I'm not sure how much it works in terms of how much you'd have to pay them), and the rest go to auction.

Seems a bit silly if that's true. Kills the fabric of all the teams.

Fair call considering he alone generates 120 per cent more interest than all other 'superstars' combined.

Not really. The only reason I watch the IPL lately is because of Matthew Hayden. As soon as he gets out I literally change the channel; which means that I haven't been watching the IPL for too long as of late.
