Harris - just couldn't find a place for him, possibly get him in there ahead of Chatfield and co. I suppose.
Also unsure over whether to make Baz open or not.
And Turner, and McMillan! Too many roles that have seemingly changed makes me incredibly indecisive about this team.Should find a spot for Greatbatch somewhere.
The guy basically changed the way people approached ODI opening. And Turner, and McMillan! Too many roles that have seemingly changed makes me incredibly indecisive about this team.
I agree with that but I can't put him in there ahead of Astle and I had to squeeze Fleming in the team. A pioneer of pinch hitting but not the greatest component to play the game. The guy basically changed the way people approached ODI opening.
Sachin,Gilly,Jaya were all off shoots of Greatbatch approach, too important a guy in odi history to be neglected.
Kumble in at no.8 for Shastri and Kapil going up to 7 perhaps?India

Too early for Taylor to get an all time XI gig I feel.He surely will end up as one but not quite there yet.I agree with that but I can't put him in there ahead of Astle and I had to squeeze Fleming in the team. A pioneer of pinch hitting but not the greatest component to play the game.
Was heavily influenced by what I feel the ODI game is now so I felt the team really needed some guys who could keep the SR up.Too early for Taylor to get an all time XI gig I feel.He surely will end up as one but not quite there yet.
But then its your choice
Feels GB would have a SR of atleast 20+ then what he ended with if he had played in the modern day. Most of his cricket was played on green seamers or slow tracks that were tailor made for the dibbly dobblys. Was heavily influenced by what I feel the ODI game is now so I felt the team really needed some guys who could keep the SR up.
Agreed. Also have my first ever cricket memories of the World Cup '92, great times, we were robbed against the Aussies by the rain rule.Feels GB would have a SR of atleast 20+ then what he ended with if he had played in the modern day. Most of his cricket was played on green seamers or slow tracks that were tailor made for the dibbly dobblys.
Anyways I am biased as my first ever cricket memories was the 92 WC.
would have still missed the semisAgreed. Also have my first ever cricket memories of the World Cup '92, great times, we were robbed against the Aussies by the rain rule.
