For alltime XI's, what's your line ups and who do you think is the strongest out of the 3 sides?

For mine:

ALLTIME COMBINED AUSTRALIA & WEST INDIES XI

Gordon Greenidge
Matthew Hayden
Sir Donald Bradman
Sir Vivian Richards
Sir Garfield Sobers
Ricky Ponting
Adam Gilchrist (wk)
Malcolm Marshall
Shane Warne (c)
Curtly Ambrose
Glenn McGrath

ALLTIME SUBCONTINENT XI

Sunil Gavaskar
Virender Sehwag
Rahul Dravid
Sachin Tendulkar
Javed Miandad
Kumar Sangakkara (wk)
Imran Khan
Wasim Akram
Anil Kumble
Waqar Younis
Muttiah Muralitharan

ALLTIME REST OF THE WORLD XI (including unselected players from Windies, Australia & Subcontient)

Sir Jack Hobbs
Sir Leonard Hutton
Walter Hammond
Graeme Pollock
Brian Lara
Jacques Kallis
Keith Miller
Alan Knott (wk)
Sir Richard Hadlee
Joel Garner
Dennis Lillee

I'd make a few changes, which are bolded.

Australian/WI:
Hayden
Greenidge
Bradman
Richards
George Headley
Sobers
Keith Miller
Gilchrist
Marshall
Warne
Dennis Lillee

Subcontinent:
Gavaskar
Sehwag
Dravid
Tendulkar
Miandad
Sangakkara
Imran Khan
Kapil Dev
Wasim Akram
Kumble
Muralitharan

Best of the rest:
WG Grace
Hobbs
Pollock
Hammond
Lara
Kallis
Andy Flower
Ian Botham or O'Reilly/Grimmett
Hadlee
Ambrose
SF Barnes

Considered a spinner for the rest team but couldn't go past a complete pace attack.

Lack of a spinner?

And who would be next in line for the spinner's spot in that side? Laker? Grimmett? Chandra? Gupte?

Would have Ponting in the team even if he had to open. Ambrose would be the reserve quick and Keith Miller could come in as an all rounder if desired. O'Reilly the the backup spinner.

A team of
Simpson
Morris
Bradman
Richards
Chappell
Sobers
Gilchrist
Warne
Marshall
Ambrose
Lillee/McGrath

Would be any other XI you cared to assemble from anywhere.

Not Terrible
Why combine the West Indies and Australia? Very strong anyway. England are also strong enough to make an alltime XI lone.

Eng XI
WI XI
Aus XI
Subcont XI
ROW XI

King Pietersen

International Captain
Um, Hobbs and all the English were going to have to be part of the ROW XI the whole time? He hasn't picked Hayden ahead of Hobbs.
It's Ben, so I reckon it's pretty safe to assume that he would pick Hayden ahead of Hobbs if given the option, even if he didn't here.

My ROW team would be:

Sir Jack Hobbs
Barry Richards
Walter Hammond
Graeme Pollock
Brian Lara
Keith Miller
Alan Knott
Sir Richard Hadlee
Joel Garner
Glenn McGrath
Subhash Gupte

and then I'd agree with Matt's Aus/WI team:

Bob Simpson
Arthur Morris
Sir Donald Bradman
Sir Vivian Richards
Greg Chappell
Sir Garfield Sobers
Adam Gilchrist
Shane Warne
Malcolm Marshall
Curtley Ambrose
Dennis Lillee

Yeah, there's not a lot of logic to it. Previously, when we've rated each countries all-time XIs, WI and Aus were considered clearly the two best. That said, it's his thing, so whatever he wants.

Bradman was a pretty successful captain actually - massive winning percentage. In a team of massive stars and personalities, his status as clearly the best player would also reinforce him status. Warne, IMO, has the brains to be a good on-field captain, but is too immature a person to be a full time captain.
