    Opening the batting and averaging 70 with a strike rate of 108 in Tests is absolutely phenomenal.

    people overrate him all the time:

    This were his figures in 2009, other then 2 innnings he scored on dead pitches against sri lanka, i really dont see why would he be considered leading cricketer of the year

    Anywho, SehWAG. Such a gun, can't think of anyone else who would've deserved it more over the last year, and even one or two more beyond that.

    Talking in the context of this year, doing well on flat tracks does not directly translate to doing FA in seaming/turning tracks. Considering a majority of tracks are batting-friendly today, Sehwag is a product of our times.

    ^ but you have to agree that in the subcontinent that tracks are way more "batting friendly"
