Shiv Sunder Das and sadagopan ramesh

Sir Alex

Banned
Ramesh was dropped following an injury. Never thought he had the technique to survive in a wicket with some juice for pacers.

Das was a reasonably sound player, the typical subcontinental batsman with all the flaws associated. He was dropped following a string of bad performances in the tour of west indies in 02 where he could average just 15 from 5 test matches. Sehwag soon came along and any chance of comeback could only be on the basis of strong domestic performances which he quite couldn't pull off.

Thank God for Sehwag and Gambhir. Though, I have to say, the "45 in 150 ball specialist" Akash Chopra did a decent job and Dinesh Karthik was OK on the tour of England as well.

Haha, Chopra is way over rated. People keep blaming the Sydney draw on various people, but Chopra manages to slip under the radar every time. Some of the worst match costing plodding away I've ever seen on a flat track.
