Who was the most ascetically pleasing batsman?

Who was the most ascetically pleasing batsman?

No stats allowed in this thread, so if you want to talk about player “A” having trouble with left arm spinners who eat coco pops for breakfast, with appropriate graphs to support the most commonly consumed breakfast cereal,as compared to player “B” who scored 3% less runs over his career whenever he put his right pad on first,

Then go find a STR thread and derail that please:happy:

He wasn't textbook, but BC Lara inspired the most awe in me. Sometimes the ball would be practically on the stumps before the bat arcked down from that high backlift of his. Instinctive brilliance, but with proper cricket shots.

Left handers always seem more graceful & more ugly than right handers, weirdly. Gower was glorious, but blokes like Smith & Katich are ugly as arseholes.

Katich is very hard to watch, but does the business more often than not. Don't think I would pay to watch him though

Avavinda, Mahela and maybe even Marvan are missing out IMO. All three are great to watch when in full flow.

I left a lot out, I almost included Roy Dias from the early SL Test teams, but in the end I didn't put any in:ph34r:

Ah very well, from those who are there, its between Lara and Mark Waugh for me. Both have different things I like about their batting but Mark Waugh gets my vote.
