    Welcome to CW, mate.

My name's Will, I'm 20, I'm from Ireland and live in Manchester. I don't support any particular test team other than whichever side I have money on, or failing that, whichever side has the bowlers I most enjoy watching. I have an irrational love of leg-spin and statistics, but not when people rape them or act like they tell us more than they really do. My own cricketing skills are startlingly bad, but sometimes I play anyway, much to the disappointment of anyone who has ever had the misfortune to be stuck on my team.

Now let that be the last time anyone mistakes me for an England fan.
    Hi Will. Welcome to CC.

AWTA. Always good to have more English fans on the board.

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

And I was 'round when Don Bradman
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Eric Hollies
bowled his googly and sealed his fate

    Pleased to meet you
    Hope you guess my name
    But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

    I stuck around Packer's offices
When I saw it was a time for a change
    Recruited Greig and his teammates
    The MCC screamed in vain

    Twas on the bank
    Ten beers I had sank
    When the underarm came
    And the sportsmanship stank

    Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
    Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
    (woo woo, woo woo)

    I watched with glee
    While the ICC
    Fought for ten decades
    For the wads they made
    (woo woo, woo woo)

    I shouted out,
    "Who killed test cricket?"
    When after all
    It was you and me
    (who who, who who)

    Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for the ICL
Who got killed before they reached Bombay
    (woo woo, who who)

    Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
    (who who)
    But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
    (who who, who who)

Just as every Asif is a criminal
    And all the Kiwis saints
    As heads is tails
    Just call me Mark Vermeulen
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
    (who who, who who)

    So if you meet me
    Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, have some taste
    (woo woo)
    Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your balls to waste, mmm yeah
    (woo woo, woo woo)

Sadly, yes. Although I'm having a feeling of deja vu, as though I've done a parody on this song before...

    Help regarding cricket rules

Guys we play matches between classes in college and there is a lot of confuison regarding two rules in cricket .The umpire there in one instance

1.called No ball when the right hand bowler was bowling around the wicket to a right hand batsman(leg side guard as we say) because there was 5 fielders on leg side.he argued that only a maximum of 5 fielders on leg side and if bowler too bowls over the wicket (leg side guard as we say) he also becomes a fielder ,so one fielder has to be moved to offside and only 4 are permitted..I have found this as nonsense and eventhough i searched in net ,i couldnt find a video to support my argument..can some one help me with it.

2.another absurd decision. The batsman hit the ball and they run for two and he failed he to ground the bat on the opposite side(only by inches of the grease) and then completed the second run ,the rule is only one run is short but the umpire said both runs are short as the batsman didnt touch the crease..I argued that only one run is short as he completed the second run but the opposite team and umpire didnt agree with me.
So i also need a video for this..

Please help me cricket crazy members.

your umpire is a ****. throw him out. he is wrong on both instances. the bowler doesnt count as a fielder. and it is only one run short in the second instance.

I joined this forum last week. Played an ok grade of park cricket in my teens and early twenties (sub-district) and unfortunately succumbed to stress fractures in my back (used to be a tear-away "quick", realistically probably bowling in the 120kmphs).

Worked on my batting and started bowling fast off-spin but played in lower grades as I became more into the social side of cricket. (The only centuries I scored was drinking 100++ shots of beer in a hundred minutes).

Gave it away when I was 28 and have had the odd cameo season in the past 10 years.

Love the game but spend more time with my 3 young children, notwithstanding every Boxing Day at the 'G drinking beer and eating left-over xmas food.

Looking forward to contributing to this forum and hearing people's opinions from around the world, especially from the sub-continent.

Aussie, aussie, aussie - oi oi oi.
