As soon as Michael posts his selection we start our bidding round that lasts 12 hours. If you make a bid at the very last minute that player remains open to a counter bid for as long as it takes the previous person to reply (or 48 hours whichever comes first). You do not have to bid if you are happy with your selection.

Hey Michael it strikes me that you may have thrown Tavare in there since you wanted Flower but as it was your nomination if you lose to me you must take him for 100k unlike the opposing bidder who lost their nomination.

So if I lose Flower I could choose to take Tavare or not. If you lose Flower then you must take Tavare.
