India used to have a tradition of inviting a foreign A team for Duleep trophy. There are five zonal teams, and this would add a sixth. Might be another place to play for the Afghans (even BD early on sent many of their firxt XI).

SL A in SL or IND A in India would be equally tough to beat in home conditions as a Aussie state team minus regular internationals.
