Is he deliberately trying to wind the ECB up?

Why is Modi the one that chooses the date for the Champions Trophy anyway?

The Champions Trophy involves more than just Indian teams, shouldn't it be an ICC matter to decide on timing and whatnot?

No, it's owned by 50% BCCI, 30% CA, 20% CSA.

ECB did not want to join initially, so they are not part of the governing council of the Champions League.

Then it is more like the Pakistan IPL angle. But CA and CSA might put pressure on the BCCI to reconsider the issue, which the IPL lacked.

So annoying, the way the Champions League is only run by three teams. Schedules should be organised further in advance, it would be easier for the ECB to change things if there was more certainty too. There's no guarantee an English team is even going to be invited, as far as I understand.

TBH, ECB was invited to be on the governing body and offered the biggest share after the BCCI. They refused on the grounds that they were throwing in their lot with Stanford......

The other three countries took all the risk getting the tournament off the ground, and organizing it. A bit late to join the party...

So he has them change their initial dates to make things run smoother, and then changes his mind and makes them do it again? What an asshole.

Is a **** event anyway that is false and manufactured. ICC should bring in their own T20 comp.

They have one....the T20 World Cup...
A real event planned in advance that isnt subject to abitrary whims and has a set and defined qualification and it is administered by a governing body with representation from all participants and accountabilty to its members.

The Champions Trophy, on the other hand, is a joke event though obviously lucrative.
