Jaggernauth flights the ball finally and almost immediately gets Omar Phillips caught close in for 88. CCC 140-3 with Reifer in and Currency on 32.

Elsewhere Nikita Miller has 5 for 20odd.

And while CW froze momentarily, Reifer's been caught behind for 4. Blink and you miss it. Rampaul's 1st wicket of the match.

Jaggernauth spinning one through the gate to bowl Currency for 44, then having McLean caught behind without scoring. He's got 3 now. Legend. 167-6.

Jason Bennett isn't young anymore, but he is uncapped. His opening partner for the CCC, Kevin McLean is a lot younger and talented lad.

In the batting ranks, Omar Phillips scored 94 on debut against Bangladesh last year, and has started with 88 today. In Trinidad there's a lot of talk about Justin Guillen, but I haven't seen him bat yet. And of course Darren Bravo will play Tests sooner than later. More talented than Dwayne, the experts have said. Certainly a sharp player.

Others to keep an eye on:

Andrew Richardson (Jamaica) - made the squad for England last year, but struggled in the only warmup match he played; quicker and better than Tonge, but Xavier has seen more of him than I have.
Nelon Pascal (Windwards) - also made the squad for England; raw pace but not much else at this stage.

Parchment (8) and Xavier Marshall (2) out early for Jamaica, with Pascal and Kenroy Peters taking 1 each.

Parchment on his last legs surely. Horace Miller, who played U-19 cricket for the WI most likely in to replace him if he fails next match.

There's also Jason Dawes, a fast bowler, who should get opportunities this season.

From Guyana, there's Devendra Bishoo, a spinner. Also Brandon Bess, a pacer who apparently has some no ball problems.

Re: Leewards there's Kieran Powell an opener and Devon Thomas, a wickie.
About the Windwards, Pascal and Tyrone Theophile, an opener.

Devon Thomas is an excellent prospect and the most likely future replacement for Ramdin IMHO.

He started off this season with 39, hopefully he will go on and get a more substantial score next time.

I saw him at the last Under 19 WC and he has an extremely impressive technique. Until last year he was disappointing in his FC matches but he scored an excellent unbeaten century for West Indies A against Bangladesh and didn't do anything wrong in the ODI's he played. His glovework needs improving IMHO but as an overall package he is the next best thing to Ramdin and is improving at a rapid pace.

Jamaica are 151-5 replying to Windwards 181....

Rawl Lewis among the wickets.

Trinidad reeling at 100-8 replying to the CCC's 234....

Kantasingh gets a five-fer.

Barbados are 160-6 replying to the Leewards 236....

Now, I'm willing to bet that these are good batting strips, but once again Caribbean batsmen just can't play spin in any form.

T&T made 107. CCC now on 49/2.

Jamaica still batting 289/7. Hinds in the 80s not out.

Barbados 229 all out from 70/0 overnight.

Hinds out on 94. No ton yet.
He went for 95....

It's a pretty serious indictment on our batsmen that the only ones who've looked like getting close to a ton are a couple of old-timers, such as Wavell Hinds and Rawl Lewis. It's good to see Omar Phillips getting runs for CCC though.

Out for a duck in the second innings, I think. Sorry, I just don't see anything to get excited about in his batting, and definitely not in his wicketkeeping. There really isn't much beyond Ramdin.

Btw Trinidad and Tobago woeful, but rain playing a part there.

Yeah, the third day was washed out in Montego Bay without a ball being bowled....

In the Caribbean, the keepers seem to be batsmen who keep a bit, in the Kamran Akmal mold.
the next best genuine keeper after Ramdin seems to be Walton. All the others seem to be rubbish with the gloves!

Morton is in his 70s, and looks to be odds-on to become the first batsman this season to get a ton.

Kantasingh is looking like a decent spinner for CCC.

Would of been great had Kieran Powell scored some runs in this game against a pretty strong bowling attack.
