BCCI dissolves ground and pitches committee

Heres hoping we get the good old dust bowls in India again from now on.
That article certainly contains no implications of this committee being linked to the spate of runway-esque pitches in India in the last 8 years; do you have your own inside info to suggest it has been?

No. I don't know what this even means. I only hope that if a new bunch of people are going to be put in charge of preparing pitches, we get more lively pitches.

Weird, Feroz Shah Kotla was keeping low during CLT20. Complete turnaround in the other direction.

As I say - I didn't even get the impression from that article that this committee was in charge of pitch-preparation. It just seemed to me that they were some sort of overseeing body, like the Pitches Panel in county cricket over here. I'd never heard of them until said article though - which is why I asked if you knew more about it than I did. :p

I know about this issue as much as I know about dinner etiquette, which is zilch.:p

It was the unpredictable bounce rather than high bounce that did it in today. Didn't watch a ball, but apparently the pitch was a patchwork of grassy and nude areas. Gavaskar called it right at the toss.

Ah rightio. All I know about it is what has been written about it, and they're harking on the ones that bounced up on the batsmen.
