Anyway the stat just goes to show that Bradman was a minnow basher. They lifted his average by a full 10 runs :p.

I think it's tough to beat Sobers' record vs India - 18 Tests, 1920 runs @ 83.47 and 59 wickets @ 25.69.

Sir Alex

Banned
vs Australia

Graeme Pollock - 1400+ runs @ 69
Ken Barrington - 2111 runs @ 64

vs Pakistan

Ponting - 1000+ runs @ 81
Taylor - 1300 runs @ 79
Sanga - 1300 runs @ 77

Mark Taylor's record against Pakistan during prime period of Waqar and Wasim is astonishing.

India was a minnow in those times :P
Nah Ind were always test standard in Sobers time. IND stop being minnows by the last 50s i'd say around the time they beat Benaud's australian's in a test

The 1966 & 1971 where by no means minnows & had great spinners that Sobers had to counter.

Fiery Fred - 53 Indian wickets at 14.84

Jim Laker "10 little Aussie boys Lakered in a row" twice in the same season and an overall Test record of 79 at 18.27 against them

Well VVS Laxman has scored 2204 runs @ 55.10 with 6 centuries and a HS of 281 against Australia. His next best is 1174 @ 53.36 with 3 centuries and a HS of 154* against the West Indies. Laxman also averages over 60 against New Zealand, but he has only played 7 Tests against them so it doesn't count in this exercise. But I think the Australian performances stand out the most.

Daniel Vettori just loves bowling against the Sri Lankans. In 11 Tests, he has taken 51 wickets @ 23.62 and with a S/R of 54.1. He has also done well against the West Indies but only is one Test short. His next best record is against Australia where he averages over 35 with 57 wickets.
