The money generated by ODIs is also having an adverse impact on cricket's growth, with Australia cancelling a two-Test series against Bangladesh in Cairns next year, but squeezing in five ODIs against England after the re-scheduled Pakistan Test series in June-July.

Just wow. I feel bad for the Cairns people that they will not be able to watch Shakib live in action.

Australia running scared? Quite possibly IMO.

Sorry for Bangladesh and all, but a winter series in Cairns versus the worst test nation is a tough sell for the ACB marketing bods.

I don't object to Bangladesh having test status, but them being part of the future tours plan is a nonsense.

Should send them over to Australia in the summer, have them fly around and play a first-class game against all the states, then give them a one-off Test in Hobart.

Wouldn't have a problem with that, except perhaps for the last part. If they get whalloped by the states the test would seem a bit unnecessary as a sporting contest.

True, true. The 'if' is probably a bit unnecessary there as well...
