Yeah one of the very few ODI series that are interesting to watch these days.

Good chance for Zaheer and Sehwag to get out of the usual rustiness seen after comebacks from injury. Are they playing?

Yea this ODI aint since it was announced way back was real overkill of IND v AUS cricket - but i'm a still watch it.

Dont see why the selectors aren't picking Nannes in the ODI side but picking Bollinger TBH. Nannes shouldn't just be considered a T20 specialist at all.

Seeing Henriques for NSW today, Hopes needs to watch it this series.

Can see India winning this 5-2 or 4-3 tbh.

7 matches is just stupid, interesting to see that Indian's are looking forward to it, but we hate it...anyway, India should win, but if I hear Holland is playing, I'll get a stream to have a look at him.

Haha, according to the FTP Australia are also due in India this time next year for a 7 match ODI series.

    Are you serious?

Needed both emoticons, couldn't work out which one fitted the situation better, after deciding a facepalm didn't cut it.

I just don't understand what made them go back to Marsh, when the opening combination of Paine and Watto were doing a decent job, on top of that the way Paine bats, he would be nothing short of a liability in the middle order, as its not really his forte to play the big shots.

Also very disappointed with the news that Fregie is gonna be out with an injury for almost 12 months, he was well on his way to establish himself in the ODI side, but the timing of his injury couldn't have been worse, hopefully someone else steps up in his absence.

Said this during the CT and would say this again, I think he has just been dropped from the ODI side and its as simple as that, I can't believe that a stiff back caused by long flight could force a player out for this long, anyways whichever way you look at it, its good riddance from Aussie perspective.

Haven't seen anything of Holland personally, but I guess it's not that big of a surprise to see him in the squad given the selectors propensity to give every spinner with an FC match under their belt a run over the past 2/3 years.
Holland is not the worst spinner going around in Australia atm, but he has hardly played any games at the domestic level, and I think its way too early to push him into international cricket.

Anyways, this will be my XI for the first game:

    1.S.Marsh
    2.S.Watson
    3.R.Ponting
    4.C.White
    5.M.Hussey
    6.A.Voges
    7.T.Paine
    8.M.Johnson
    9.B.Lee
    10.N.Hauritz
    11.P.Siddle

Its pretty likely to be the XI for the first game, and the batting clearly looks pretty thin, and with the inclusion of Marsh the team combination too gets messed up, Hopes who could prove to be more than a handy contributor in Indian conditions is most likely to miss out, also in case either Voges or White struggle with the bat, or one of the batsmen get injured then we clearly don't have a reserve batsman to fill in for them.

The starting XI for India with the injured players returning should be something like this:

    Sachin Tendulkar
    Virender Sehwag
    Gautham Gambhir
    MS Dhoni
    Yuvraj Singh
    Suresh Raina
Ravindra Jadeja (At least does one thing right compared to Yusuf Pathan - bowling)
Harbhajan Singh (Should bat ahead of Jadeja at no.7 if a wicket falls after the 40th over)
    Zaheer Khan
    Amit Mishra
    Ishant Sharma / Praveen Kumar

    I was thinking moreso...

    1. Sachin Tendulkar
    2. Virender Sehwag
    3. Gautam Gambhir
    4. MS Dhoni
    5. Yuvraj Singh
    6. Suresh Raina
    7. Virat Kohli
    8. Harbhajan Singh
    9. Amit Mishra
    10. Zaheer Khan / Praveen Kumar (fitness)
    11. Ashish Nehra

Honerable mention: Yusuf Pathan should be kept around the scene. He has not lived up to expectations but I feel that a very hard hitting batting all rounder is a valuable asset to have. I do not tend to favour Munaf Patel as an ODI option, but I cannot argue with his form in the Challenger Trophy. Sreesanth, Sudeep Tyagi and RP Singh (in descending order of preference) also provide viable pace options. Similarly, Pragyan Ojha provides a very strong reserve spin option.

Dishonerable mention: I do not feel Abhishek Nayar's batting or bowling nor the combination of the two warrents ODI selection. Rohit Sharma recieved plenty of opportunities and has shown himself not up to ODI standards. Ishant Sharma's recent bowling has been nothing short (pun) of appalling and he should be dropped and rested, with the hope that his immediate Test career can be salvaged.
The speed at which a fielding team gets through the innings is overrated.

And Dhoni should be using Sehwag instead of Raina if he ever wants to bowl a part-timer.
