Tamim Iqbal Khan is one of the Best thing to have happened to Bangladesh cricket.

He showed early promise when given an opportunity in a Warm- Up match against New Zealand in the 2007 World Cup.Boy! He responded with a bang! .

His stunning innings read: 46 in 48 balls with 6 dazzling fours and a massive six at an awesome SR of 95.98. Courtesy Tamim, Bangladesh eventually won that match by 2 wickets.

The bowling terror Shane Bond and a high quality pacer James Franklin were blasted way to all parts of the ground.

Shane Bond and Trevor Franklin match figures of 1 for 59 and 2 for 54 respectively reflects Tamim’s dominance.

Tamim had made lasting impression on Coach Dav Whatmore and team management. No wonder he made his World Cup debut to play against the India .The rest is history.

He belted all the Indian bowlers with great Authority, Timing, Class and Perfection. It was a gem of a knock that he played : 51 in 53 balls with seven sweetly timed boundaries and two towering sixes at an awesome SR of 96.22.

His towering six of Zaheer khan is considered by Cricket Pundits as one of the greatest in the tournament.

Tamim is synonymous with the word dominate : He takes control of opposition bowlers from the word go by unsettling their line and length with some audacious strokes fetching him either boundaries or sixes . On most occasions he wins the battle.

It goes to coach Siddon’s credit that he was able to teach him to play a long innings by making him realize that every ball cannot be hit to the boundary.

He has now mellowed a lot and has shown maturity in shot selections and proved that he is also capable to play long innings according to the needs of the situation.

He topped the batting aggregate 300 at an average of 60.00 in the recently concluded One day series against Zimbabwe and also scored a brilliant century in a test against the West Indies recentl .

His Zimbabwe One day series looks impressive as records testify: Matches 5, Runs 300, HS 154,100S: 1, 50S: 2, AVG: 60, SR: 89.55 . By virtue of his excellent batting performance throughout the series he was selected Player of the series and rightly so.

Tamim is also an brilliant fielder and has some outstanding catches under his belt.

I sincerely hope BCB will take proper care to groom him into a World Class batsman.

bangladesh's best batsman is in the wilderness. Bring back Alok Kapali. He is the next big thing after Shakib Al Hasan.

Easliy one of the Bangladesh's best batsman at the moment, what ever happened to Habibul Bashar? he was a handy batsman. Was he banned by the BCB?

Shame that Manjural Islam died in a car accident. Very young and talented spin bowling all-rounder. Would have given Bangladesh a nice balance with Shakib if he were alive.

Kapali is one day stuff .He is indeed needed to boltster our One day and T20 batting strength.

Presently Bangladesh Team management is playing Raqibul as a make shift arnangement. But Kapli and Raqibul are different as chalk and cheese. Raqib is test material . But cannot play aggressive shot like Kapil who on his day can demolish any attack and win the game for Bangladesh.

Tamim of late along with Junaid had give great opening starts which helped later batsmen to play their normal game and contributed to Bangladesh playing well against both West Indies and Zimbabwe.

On present form Tamim is the best batsman although Raqibul is the most technically correct batsman. .

Hope this helps.

Bashar was given a lot of opportunities to come back to form. Unfortunately his form dipped to an alarming level at which point the BCB decided to ingore him. After being ignored for a longer period he decided that it was time for him to quit. Thus he retired.

In his earlier days he was the best batsman to have played test and One day cricket. Far more consistent than Ashraful who will score a century once in a while and then have a string of poor scores .

Thanks God, Ash has been replaced by Saqibul who has led from the front and brought out the best of players and lead Bangladesh to great success against West Indies and Zimbabwe.
