Should certainly be interesting to see how these guys go against the spinners. Would so have wanted to see Barath, Richardson and Rampaul in Tests though.

I don't think so actually. The WICB is in some heavy debt. Paying players puts it further in debt. Of course, the players have to be paid, and the WICB will pay them, but that doesn't mean it can afford to.

And let's drop the crap about the board alone being at fault.
Agreed....

I'm not impressed with the adversarial stance taken by WIPA.

I'm also less than impressed by the veiled threat Ramnarine made to Miller and Pascal.

Well who would know if they actually are. No accounts published by them in any Caribbean paper.

It's quite well known that WICB and West Indies cricket is in debt. And with the lack of major sponsors, poor attendances, and general failure of the team, it's naive to think that those debts are not substantial. The World Cup was not as magnificent a revival as hoped.

I have no doubt that the board are not rich but I don't know how the finances are. Pretty sure they got all the debt they owed written off recently and then they had the World Cup money.

Image rights are owned by a subsidiary of WIPA. Essentially the WICB rents them before each series, it seems. But WIPA insists that no action will be taken against the two.

That depends though on how much more worse this situation gets.

Now that a public admission has been made by Ramnarine that no action will be taken, I can't see WIPA getting away with taking action regardless of what happens. At the end of the day there is no WIPA without the support of the players. And that would definitely kill such support.

Good stuff from Omar Phillips and night watchman Austin. Phillips closing in on his maiden test 50.

Looks like the Bangla Boys have lost both their frontline seamers, the captain and Shahadat Hossain due to injury.

No, Rubel Hossain isn't injured, he's bowling at the minute. He's just bad at cricket.
