I've just come home form the VRA ground. It was a good match. A lot of tension there!

What amazed me was that there were about 25 Dutch supporters (which is normal, I suppose) and about 500 Afghanistanis!
Wow, Great! :-)

Well done to the Dutch. People forget with all the hype surrounding Afghanistan's rise that they should barely even be underdogs when playing a country like the Netherlands.
Indeed. Netherlands are a seasoned associate side with a wealth of ODI experience, they should be firm favourites, especially at home.

The Afghans ascent has been rapid but it was only two years ago that they were playing league cricket with the likes of Singapore, Botswana et cetera.

But if their progress continues as this kinda of pace, it won't be long until this nomad side are the top dogs in associate cricket. Team is full of youth and they have a rich diaspora of professional cricketers in Pakistan which they can tap into.

There was nothing like a home advantage yesterday! It was like every Afghani was there!

RTD to singlehandedly whitewash the Afghans.

Great start by the Afghans. Both Dutch openers gone, they are only scoring at 1.33 runs an over and dangerman RTD is being hidden once again.

Dont know Y RTD comes so late in the line up... Chance for him to score centuries & take Netherlands to decent scores if he bats above...

More trouble for the Dutch, 40 for 3 in today's game, let's see if Afghanistan can finish it this time.

Saved by guess who?

But if RTD was batting at four instead five he would have comfortably completed his century, not finish agonisingly close at 98 N/O. Ouch.

And a career best for fellow South African born batsman and guy with a Polak sounding name, Eric Szwarczynski (65).

Afghans need 232 to win.

Second youngest ODI international centurion of all-time and the youngest by a keeper by at least four years. :)

Embarrassing loss for the Dutch, lost with overs to spare and were only competitive thanks to RTD.

Hurray! Afghanistan Win their second ODI... Wat a match... This team are capable of challenging Ireland for top NTPNs spot... Great going guys... Waiting for more Intercontinental Cup fixtures to come out. Heard Ireland are gonna play Afghanistan next somewhere in UAE or Sri Lanka. Hope they add in few Odis too... Can't wait...

It seems surreal. Afghanistan just started playing last year or so and we have them winning comfortably. Are they really this good? Think how much they could improve with better facilities at home.

Or maybe they are just blowing up the myth that NTPN are progressing at all.

Afghanistan certainly in with a crack at qualifying for a world T20 sooner or later.
Yeah, that would be interesting
