Happy with the Windies at Perth.

Also, will this year's Boxing Day test have the smallest crowd in recent memories? It was pretty poor against South Africa, and I can't imagine it being much better against a vastly inferior side.
If it is I reckon the Boxing Day test should be open to bids from other states.

Awww....Boo hoo. Melbourne missing out a ODI. We never get tests during school holidays and rarely get to see the higher ranked nations.
Huh? Not complaining about missing an ODI, what I'm saying is it's pointless to give us two against one team and none against another especially when the team is playing twice at Perth (and on the other side, Perth have two in a row with Pak but none against WI). Just looks like stupid, from the outset.

I'm assuming it is because they think that two one dayers kind of balance out with one ODI. It is a little confusing, but I'm not overly disappointed.

Considering Hobart don't get one ODI, only a 2020 I don't think there can be any complaining from the Melbourne lot.

It was relatively poor. And it still had 63,000 people coming on Boxing Day which is well above the capacity of any other ground in the country.

Haha yeah, Boxing Day test shouldn't ever be moved elsewhere. But if they only managed 63,000 against the most competitive team to tour in quite some time (and it dropped badly over the next few days), I can't see Pakistan cracking 60K.

wat? Again, it's not a complaint but a question about the logic of the balance. But hey, don't let that get in the way of the facts.

It'll depend on the Pak population here, the economy but most of all how well we do in the Ashes.

Dire summer in prospect.

It's a brave man who buys a two day pass to a Windies Test out here.

Haha, fair enough, sounded like a complaint to me. Given we are are brothers-in-arms (at least until Wednesday night) I'll let it go.

Has Edwards ever been deadly? Far too easy to score runs off his bowling for him to create enough pressure in Tests.
Over the last six months he has been very good, in New Zealand he had some very dangrous spells. If he keeps improving the way he has he could be one of the best bowlers in the world come this time next year. I think this Aussie tour could bring the best out of Edwards.

Has Tim Neilsen rightfully said. T20 needs to stop being treated as exhibition matches.

Should have had 3 ODI vs 3 T20's vs WI. Then maybe 5 ODI's & 2 T20's vs PAK.

What on earth is the point in scheduling 2 Test series back to back, followed by 2 ODI series back to back?

Especially the West Indies. Are they meant to be anywhere else after their Tests against Australia? Plus it would cost them a fortune to play out to Australia and then fly back to the WI and fly back again a few months later, plus the hassle with visas (Nash won't need one, assuming he still has a Australian passport).

If I go, I will just go to the ground and buy my tickets there.

Guess that it would help the Australian public get into a rhythm, rather than the chopping and changing. Also let the ODI "specialists" and Test specialists get to play more games for their state.

I like the idea of splitting the Tests and ODI's into blocks. Like vic_orthdox says, allows the specialists to spend a decent amount of time playing state cricket. Will benefit for example NSW to have Bracken bowling for half a season, and when he becomes committed to Australian ODI duties, receive test specialist Phil Hughes in exchange.

Biggest worry is ODI overkill late in the season. 10 ODI's and 3 T20 is alot of cricket in the space of 1 month.

So I guess there would be nothing stopping a state team form signing up a player like Chris Gayle for the T20 comp? I would.
