If I wanted someone who's rubbish against virtually every Test class batting lineup then I'd go for Vettori. People are finally seeing past the turban, the awful batting and the comical fielding of Donkey Panesar and realising he's not much cop with the ball.
So that leaves two options who I don't know much about. On stats Shakib would be better because he takes 5-fers, Harris just seems to be randomly gifted wickets on and off. Anyway not enough information to come to a conclusion yet.

I'd say Vettori's the best out of them in terms of ability. But Panesar and Harris have benefited from unfamiliarity (and Harris also from a lack of respect). And hey, who cares how they get their wickets.
I've never actually seen Shakib so i can't really comment on him. |

You have to give it to Vettori based on the multiple jobs he does for NZ, i.e. keeping an end tight and being threatening and the fact that he's been going on for so long...
Reckon Pantybra's average is sure to go up, and people might actually start giving Harris respect which would be resultant in his average going up (though he does do a job for Seth Efrica) and never ever seen Shakib, based on figures he must have something about him though...

As people don't seem to be realising how ****e Vettori's stats are against Test class batting sides:
57 wickets @ 35 against Australia (they play him badly, but nothing special there) 46 wickets @ 14 against Bangladesh - very nice average booster there 45 wickets @ 37 against England 21 @ 55 against India 4 @ 100 against Pakistan 18 @ 70 against SA 41 @ 21 against SL - the only Test quality side he has a good record against 33 @ 26 against WI who were completely rank against any competent spinner 23 @ 31 against Zimbabwe Take out Bangladesh and he averages 37. If you take out Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and WI then he averages 39 with the ball. |

Yeah we get it Scaly-NZ have never had a good player in their history, especially if they're compared with some Durham player. Now kindly go down your mine shaft with your scrabble kit and be paranoid about anti-northern bias in the press.
Seriosuly, we'd read your posts more if we hadn't had to listen to the BS that you'd been sprouting last year and before. Thought you'd gotten over it considering you didn't go in for the kill in the Indian thread. England would kill to have Vettori as a batsman btw. someone to stay with Pietersen long enough. ![]() The best on that list is probably Vettori all up, though Shakib is currently the best. Harris is better than everyone thinks imo and Monty needs to learn some new tricks to keep up with the play.
