***Official***Australian Domestic Season Thread 2009/2010

Sylvester

State Captain
Steven Smith at 5 is leaving him with too much to do. In the past 2 games hes come in 3/20 or similar with the RRR sky rockted. Should be at 3 so that hes at least he can control the RRR and he has more partners left.

The side is really lacking a carming influence on the team, especially the batting. Really need to real Jaques to stand up, though it would be nice if he knew his role in the limited overs side now.

Yeah Bracken not playing (anyone know why?)
There was no problems with his bowling, however he thought he would be a liability in the field so he pulled out.

After it got shorted to a 9 over game we should have forced him to play. Grant Lambert ffs 8-) I know he's a excellent grade player and all, but please, **** off

Go Vics. Only just got home, so no chance of making the game.

Tonight will be huge, Melbourne is alive with talk of the Big Bash, and it is a perfect night for cricket. Wouldn't be a shock to see anywhere from 35K to 40K at the game.

Good to see Ryan Carters making his debut tonight, fourth ACT player to make their state debut this season.

All too easy in the end. Hodge just a class ahead of the rest, had a quiet tournament thus far.

Oh yes forgot to mention Attendance: 43,125 (Australian Domestic Twenty20 record)

Just the innings Hodge needed if these crazy selectors are going to consider him for the T20 WC squad..

Great little knock from Simpson tonight, I've been a huge critic of his but he looks well suited to opening in the T20's. Hope he contrinues to do it in both this form and has a crack in the One Dayers.

Yes some fantastic batting by Simpson the last couple of games. Almost nothing to lose by throwing him up the top of the order for FRC games in the future. Has done zero of note with the bat in his career to date (despite looking capable), and surely having him throw the bat around in the odd chance it comes off would be a smart move.

Shame he has such an appalling record, because he is a very likeable cricketer, very switched on with smart head, and looks all the potential to be a solid cricketer with both bat and ball.

Just to note, I have always been a massive critic of Simpson, just hope he turns the corner.

Strange for WA to end up 37 runs short but still have 5 wickets left. Not a single batsman looked capable of stepping up and spanking a couple of sixes to swing the game. Wes Robinson played well, but just far too slow when chasing over 200.
