Also, for purely sadistic reasons I want Philander to take 300 wickets at 20. Then we will see another effective but non-flamboyant cricketer being denied his due just like S Pollock and Kallis are.

Agree with you to a certain extent.

I think recently there was a pretty good piece by Akash Chopra on Kallis and Sobers and one of his arguments was that Sobers was just more glamorous compared to Kallis and that gives you a definite edge.
And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

In the pre match talk show, Waqar and Jhonty both picked Steyn as the better bowler between him and Donald...

Agree, Donald possibly wouldn't make an all time SA team now as Steyn nicks his place. Shows how good both are that they are talked of at that level.

Assume you mean Donald as the in-swing bowler? Could do both equally well from what I remember of the guy.

That, I didn't hear and something I find very facinating. Pollock played his career with Donald and Waqar was also playing at the same time, and since past players tend to favor players from their era, that is very high praise indeed.

And yes, it would be great to have Donald and Steyn opening the bowling together with Procter to follow, that would be some special attack.

Just judging from Rob's channel tbf. Seemed to bowl an awful lot of them and his action was far more conductive to innies.

Would it be accurate to say he was like Bond in that respect? That he could theoretically do both, but the massive indipper was his trademark.

I remember donald seamed it away and swung the ball in. Dale is the opposite (swing away and seam in)

Against Australia, his most frequently displayed skill was the look of exasperation.
