From GA, I think Ireland and Scotland will sail through.
Namibia will probably be 3rd and then Canada. Hard to see Oman being anything other than bottom and expect Uganda to just miss out, though they could surprise Canada and sneak in.

From GB again, the top 2 - Kenya and Netherlands should go through easily enough and I think Bermuda's form will also carry them in. Afghanistan to upset Denmark and UAE for the final S8 berth.

From there
Ireland, Scotland, Kenya, Namibia to qualify in that order.

Netherlands and either Bermuda to retain ODI status

(this next bit is more a 'here's hoping...')

Semis - Ireland beat Namibia, Kenya upset Scotland having lost to them in the S8.

Final: Kenya upset Ireland and finally restore some pride.

I guess Ireland will beat Kenya & replace them as the top Associate... Is the most closely contested WCQs till date?
Do u think Ireland & Kenya will be in the next qualifiers or be full members?

Just bumping this at the tournement gets closer. Hoping to see Kenya and Bermuda do well as they are the two associates I have been keeping a close eye on. Does anyone know why Seren Waters hasnt played any of the recent Kenya warm up matches?

These would be the likely final standings -

1. Ireland
2. Scotland
3. Namibia
4. Canada
5. Holland
6. UAE
7. Kenya
8. Denmark
9. Uganda
10. Oman
11. Afghanistan
12. Bermuda

Kenya will fall off as they havent been doing great recently and are too dependent on Odoyo and an ageing Tikolo. Canada always tend to do well in the World cup qualifiers and with both Cheema & Davison playing, they will make a few surprises & might even win the tournament. Namibia have been doing well in the South African domestic tournament even in the limited-overs format, so they should qualify comfortably. Ireland is the best associate team by a fair distance and should be the favourites this time as well. Afghanistan is very lucky to be here ahead of Argentina, Nepal & Hong Kong

He's been touring with Surrey, so has not been with the squad - he will join up with them in SA.

Not so sure about Nepal, maybe PNG, who only missed out on net run rate.

Anyway, here is how I think it'll end up. (The group stages anyway)

Group A

Ireland
Scotland
Namibia
Canada
Uganda
Oman

Group B

Kenya
Netherlands
Bermuda
UAE
Denmark
Afghanistan

Very poor opposition though. Two players with List A experience, one of whom a specialist batsman with a highest limited overs score of 29.
A bit harsh there Hak, thats my standard :@

You are right though, just checking the scorecard there are a lot of guys I know who played in that game and they are good cricketers but unlikely to ever become full-time pro let alone international players.

The Netherlands are 177-6 after 37.3 overs.
Target is 226 in 50 overs.
Current run rate is 4.72; required rate = 3.92.

Holland have a shot, but they have ran out of batsman...

Schiferli slogging
E Schiferli 20* of 9 balls

So Netherlands lost by 23 runs. Also, Seren Waters didnt play in the Surrey match last night.

Thats all the playing news i've been able to track down.

Afghans have a couple of ringers in (pak 1st class players), so I wouldnt be so fast to put them at the bottom of the table.

That report on the Dutch victory got me wondering if we will see Mark and Maurits Jonkman bowling together for the Dutch any time soon. Kweek, report?
