Just for Fun: Worst Test "Draft"

Somerset

Cricketer Of The Year
Interesting choice first up from Somerset. Not only a shocking player, but you could get him to provide a very poor standard of officiating to boot!
Didn't initally consider his umpiring but when you throw that into the equation, I'm very pleased with the errr "quality" of my selection.

Shame about the non-Bangladesh/Zimbabwe rule. Khaled Mahmud could have been my un-lose-toable bad captain.

Goughy picks Surrey's finest leg-spinner, Ian Salisbury

Heef picks New Zealand finest opener, Michael Papps. Not only a woefully inept batting record, but there was always the worry that he might be killed by the first short ball that gets delivered to him.

Code:
1.1 Zinzan12
1.2 Somerset Asoka de Silva

Haha Heef, didn't you defend Papps's place in the team during the SA series? :p

Because I'm furious at the guy atm, I'd suggest someone pick Craig Cumming. Drops OD trophies as well as bats like ****.

Y no Afghanistan flag
Murray Chapple, NZ.

Chapple will likely be my captain. In his sole Test as captain chasing 197 to win, Chapple and his inspired team mates were all out for 48 runs. He never played again.

His personal career highlight would have been his 25 minute duck against England opening the batting.

With a batting average of 19.11, he's also a handy Left arm medium bowler averaging 84 with the ball.

Ah...in that case it's my turn, and first up I'd like to select Someone Really Obvious. In fact, I haven't checked how his stats compare to some of the 6-Test folk, but suffice to say there's no other specialist seam bowler with a fair number of Test matches who comes close to his average. So it would be a travesty if he wasn't drafted in early.

Mohammad Sami, take a bow

I'm going to get the all-rounder and captain in early, all in one.

Chris Cowdrey

Six tests. 101 runs @ 14. 4 wickets @ 77. His one match as captain was lost by ten wickets. You won't find many worse players than that.
