School Boy/Girl Captain
Am a little confused as to exactly what this thread is asking for...
Best current ODI captain: Vettori. An inspiring captain and good man-manager.
Smith is turning out be a solid Test capitano, but his captaincy in ODIs is just atrocious. His leadership is immense, and when he plays well, we play well, but his decisions about bowling changes, field settings, PowerPlays and actual team selections is pathetic. Add to that the fact that it is irrelevant who wins the toss because Smith makes the wrong decision 95% of the time.
Best all-time captain: Difficult to choose as I haven't been around for all that long but by all accounts Imran Khan, AB and Benaud were top-class, as well as Mike Brearsley and Clive Lloyd. Best I've seen is Steve Waugh and Fleming.
