Selection Challenge

I need 4 people to take part.

Each will get a criteia and must select a team based on that.

Each player will get 11 groups of Decade and Nation (post war only).

You must select a player that debuted for that nation in that decade.

So you will have 11 like this Pak/90s, Eng 50s, SA 00s etc and a side needs to be selected.

I will randomly determine who gets what

Bastard - I'm picking a number of subcontinent sides and one contentious selection will open me up to a world of abuse

Start with the guys I'm most familiar with - Aust debutants in the 70s

Rick McCosker
Bruce Laird
Greg Chappell
Allan Border
Ross Edwards
Kim Hughes
Rod Marsh
Gary Gilmour
Bruce Yardley
Dennis Lillee
Jeff Thomson

Really tough one to choose as a number of players had their careers cut short for a variety of reasons

Guys like McCosker and Edwards were top players who spent little time in the game because of financial/study pressures

Laird's best years were arguably in the WSC

Hughes was a brilliant player whose record was shattered by captaincy pressures

Gilmour was a drunk but potentially one of the greatest ever all-rounders

Yardley only took up spinners late in his career but was a fine bowler

Thomson lived off his pre-injury rep for a number of years (probably should've picked Walker but the Lillee - Thommo combination is hard to ignore)
