There is reason to believe that his comment came out that way in part because they were second string players, but in part because they were black from Africa.
"There has always been a thought that Australian players don't like it when other captains stand up to them. They like to make fun of a Mike Brearley or a Jeremy Coney, but put a Sourav Ganguly or an Arjuna Ranatunga in front of them - someone who stands up and mouths off -and they hate it." - Jarrod Kimber
Yeah I mean, just looking at this:
Why can't foreign players be from Africa? Would he have been as dismissive about de Villiers? If so, wtf?I don’t even know the name of any of these so-called foreign players. It seems they just picked up players from wherever. Picked some from Africa and called them foreign players. Picked some from Africa and called them foreign players.
It just doesn't make sense unless it was racist.

A small mercy this didn't go through, surely there's enough of a burning furnace of batting talent in Pakistan to seek aid from the darkest of corners?

Sharjeel Khan could be a big loss for their white ball side. He is one of the only modern batsmen they have and can get them off to fliers. I am not saying he is a gun or anything but was important in changing the philosophy of the side.
