How the hell is Warner more deserving of a spot in the team than Marsh? The guy has hardly done anything and been picked as an experiment, while Marsh has been consistently making runs. He's been Australia's best ODI batsmen this series. My God. And no Johnson, one of our best ODI bowlers in the last couple of years, is almost as dire.

Anyway, I don't see the need to pick only three specialist bowlers and bat Haddin at 8. I don't really like the idea of relying on Symonds, Dussey and Clarke for 10 overs when you've already got one proper all-rounder in the team, and Johnson and Lee can both bat pretty decently.

Watson
Marsh
Ponting
Clarke
Symonds
M. Hussey
Haddin
Johnson
Lee
Bracken
Clark/Tait or a specialist spinner, depending

Stronger bowling, no place for David Hussey.

I am not sure Symonds should be back, but that's a different matter all together, anyways this would be my XI even if Symonds comes back into the side, given everyone is fit.

1.Watson
2.Marsh
3.Ponting
4.Clarke
5.Symonds
6.Mussey
7.Dussey
8.Haddin
9.Johnson
10.Bracken
11.Lee
Slight changes;

Watson
Warner
Ponting
Dussey
Symonds
Clarke
Mussey
Haddin
Lee
Bracken
Clark/Hilfenhaus

Would like an extra bowler maybe Tait if fit, in if Symonds is banned, that way we can have 4 specialists plus Watson. The batting order should be as above because it's been tried and tested through the golden period and Clarke batting at 4 is too high, he's lost the ability to switch gears.
Wow, quite glad neither of you are picking the team. Have you even taken notice of what has happened in the current OD series where Australia has always been a bowler short, and suffered from batsmen playing out of position? In case you haven't, they lost!

Watson is a better bowler than Hopes, but he shouldn't be played as the 4th bowling option, especially whilst he's opening the batting. Also, how the hell can you justify picking Warner ahead of Marsh, when Marsh has comfortably been the best Aust. OD batsmen of late is beyond me. Oh and no Johnson? I mean, it's not like he's been taking his OD wickets at around 20 over the past 18 months in various conditions.

Watson
Marsh
Ponting
Clarke
Symonds
Hussey
Haddin
Johnson
Lee
Bracken
Tait/Clark/Hauritz/Heal

Not Terrible
Haddin at 8? WTF

1. Watson (if fit)/Hopes
2. Marsh
3. Ponting
4. Clarke
5. Symonds
6. M. Hussey
7. Haddin
8. Johnson
9. Lee
10. Bracken
11. Clark (Tait/Siddle to cover bowling)

Opening the bowling Lee/Bracken 5 overs a piece
Then Johnson/Clark to continue
With Watto/Symonds/Clarke/Hopes making up 10

Batting down to 7, with 8 and 9 being handy sloggers. The only weak spot is Watto (and slightly Haddin) since he is almost never fully fit or in form at the same time, if that occur then this is easily the best ODI team in the world.

OK silly mistake, I thought my team had 5 genuine bowling options. This would be it.

Watson
Warner
Ponting
D. Hussey
Symonds
M. Hussey
Haddin
Lee
Bracken
Clark
Hilfenhaus

In terms of selection and saving face, it would be a poor decision, because he has made runs, but for the general benefit of the team and trying to win matches, you do need an aggressor and an ultra aggressor at the top.

Clarke is an iffy story, he's just back from injury so let him play some domestic List A cricket. His stats for the past few years batting at 4 have also told a story, averaging in the low 30s with a strike rate in the low 60s. Not flash. Move him back to 6 where he thrived all those years ago when Martyn was in the team.

I do want to make the point that we definitely need 4 specialist bowlers and then Watson et al as the fifth option. Johnson I still don't buy into the argument that he's a good enough international yet despite stats. I reckon he's got talent in terms of batting, but he needs to hone and fine tune his bowling skills, particularly control, because ever since he got picked back in 05/06 I knew he'd be a spray it around bowler, and nothing much has changed of yet.

Don't like Clark in the One Day team, Tait is better for mine. He is a really attacking options.

1. Watson
2. Marsh
3. Ponting
4. Clark
5. Symonds/D. Hussey
6. M. Hussey
7. Haddin
8. Johnson
9. Lee
10. Bracken
11. Tait

That would be my team, when all fit. Hauritz > Tait on huge spinning tracks.

Yeah the Prince should be next in line for gloves. As good behind the stumps, but anyone would be compared to Ronchi.

Manou and Hartley are equal top AFAIC.
Manou is very good.

Love how he scores frequently these days.

I reckon some people look at his overall average and think he's a poor batsman, he's improved so much over the last few years.

He's more of a Test player though.
