Cricket Eq. Info.Bats?

I know very little about cricket equipment. I was given a bat and would like to know something about it. It was made by Gunn & Moore, has William Gunn signature on blue GM logo with blue and green stripe from base of handle down about 10".Opposite side of bat the label has the GM in blue then under it, Gunn & Moore and The 'Skipper' . Below that is another label with Made in England, from selected, seasoned ENGLISH WILLOW inset on a British flag. Also at the top of the bat on each is Dunn & Moore Makers Nottingham England. The bat has a white finish with a black handle and I just noticed either a 6 or 8 stamped on the end of the handle. Can anyone give me information on this bat?

It's definitely a 6 on the handle, which means it's designed for a 12-13 year old (approx).

It sounds like an inexpensive mid-range children's backyard bat if it is as white as you make out. A "real" bat (i.e. one that I'd face a fast bowler against without starting to think "is this going snap in half when I hit the ball) should look much more of a "woody" colour...
