Cricket Team Draft - ODI edition

Brad Hogg. Superior ODI spinner - key and underrated part of the greatest ODI machine that's existed to date. We barely missed Warne with him in the team, which says it all about his quality in this form of the game.

I seem to be taking the opposite strategy to lots of you, in that I'm mainly going for bowling options so far. Hasn't been really deliberate, after each pick I've thought of some batsmen and some bowlers, its just that so far, everyone takes my batsmen, and what's left don't seem worth passing on the bowlers.

Team so far:
Adam Gilchrist
-
-
-
Steve Waugh
-
Kapil Dev
Brad Hogg
-
-
Shane Bond

With 30 overs coming from bowlers as good as Bond, Hogg and Kapil, plus Waugh bowling a spell at the death, I'm backing myself to be chasing accomplishable scores more often than not.

:mad2: He was going to be my very next pick!!! I was going to pick him up now but decided to wait a round on the basis that he was under rated and no one would go for him. Almost the same bowing stats as Warne plus a batting average of 20. Damn.

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
SL Malinga

Will be expensive, but has a very good strike rate and can cause absolute havoc

I was going to pick up a bowler before seeing that INZAMAM UL-HAQ had still yet to be selected. With 11739 runs he will be perfect for the number 4 spot in my team.

Still building a team of personalities it seems. Hansie Cronje is my pick. What a ****, but a great player none-the-less. These guys are going to get on like the police at a Balclutha BZP party.

Saurav Ganguly - (LHB 11,363 runs @ 41.02, RM 100 wickets @ 38.50)
Hansie Cronje - (RHB 5,565 runs @ 36.41, RM 114 wickets @ 34.78)
Sir Ian Botham (RHB 2113 runs @ 23.21, RFM 145 wickets @ 28.54)
Waqar Younis (RHB 969 runs @ 10.30, RF 416 wickets @ 23.84)
Allan Donald (RHB 95 runs @ 4.31, RF 272 wickets @ 21.78)

Forming a quality team so far Heath, would be a nightmare to manage them though!

Another personality. Andrew Symonds was no longer available, sadly, so I've gone for Darren "Boof" Lehmann. Not only does he score freely at a good strike rate, his slow left-armers can easily be underestimated.

Saurav Ganguly - (LHB 11,363 runs @ 41.02, RM 100 wickets @ 38.50)
Darren Lehmann - (LHB 3,078 runs @ 38.96, SLA 52 wickets @ 27.78)
Hansie Cronje - (RHB 5,565 runs @ 36.41, RM 114 wickets @ 34.78)
