Haha, the down side of the referal system, when a side still has referals left, the bowlers at the end of the innings end up referring everything.
Makes a change from them getting fired out because they're tail-enders and the umpire reverses the benefit of the doubt.

If it swings, even a little bit, for any length of time, they'll start regretting not picking Anderson.
Because Sidey's useless when it swings.

Let's face it, whichever of Harmy or Jimmy would only be likely to take wickets with the new ball.

EDIT: Freddie opening? Interesting. Maybe Harmy was in as a specialist no 10.

1.2 Flintoff to Gayle, SIX, bosh! Well, that's a statement of intent! No foot movement but a dismissive swing of the blade, and a sheepish Flintoff has been drilled for six over mid-on!
Much as I hate to say it, since they're the oppo n' all, but Gayle is definitely my favourite non-English player. Wow.

Flintoff opening the bowling. Didn't see that coming at all; good move though.
Geoffrey called it on TMS... though he's never been the biggest Harmison fan.

Loved his reaction to Monty referring the lbw, 'what a dipstick, let's get on with the game'.

Not really questioning Sidebottoms selection TBH. But now you mention it, I would rather have Anderson than Sidebottom ATM.

And if Harmison is only gonna be taking wickets with the new ball, how come he isn't opening.

Gayle and Sehwag are both very talented bowlers and could easily have played test cricket for their respective countries as bowlers IF they had the discipline to do it
Do you think Gayle isn't disciplined enough as a bowler? When he's bowling, he is quite smart, and can be depended upon to keep an end tight- with wickets coming on their own. He's no Pras, Saqi or Murali, but just fine for his team.

Dude, pitch the ****er up. Its swinging so get them forward
As long as he gets it that straight i don't think it matters. They're only going to get out defending. It's when he's bowling outside off and not-quite-full-enough that it gets on my nerves.

EDIT: Like that last ball of the over

I've never been a fan of Fred opening. I couldn't explain why he's less effective with the completely new ball, but it just seems that way. It strikes me as a nonsense if Harmy doesn't want to open, but if that is the case they might as well bowl Broad for a few at the start of the innings.

Err when has he said anything like that?

Interesting having the appeals... makes you feel a little bit sorry for the batsman somehow. Good decision though.

Right decision, had to be out, couldn't understand why it wasn't given in the first place.

Suppose its been a good start to the referral system for England then. Surprise it took so long for a decision really it was stone dead on the replay
