Michael Holding in Tasmania

Kenny

U19 Debutant
Have any of you heard the story of when Michael Holding played a season of (then) sheffield shield cricket with Tasmania? I think it may have been '81 or '82......

He opened the bowling and about 3rd ball a thick edge flew though to the 'keeper - even people outside the ground heard the nick.
A loud and sustained appeal by Holding and the Tasmanians was stubbornly refused by the umpire.
Holding, the consumate professional, got on with the job, and as the umpire called "Over!" Holding strolled over, took his jumper and hat and remarked dryly, "At least you can count to six, maaan......".
