Perhaps Rohit has been selected too young in a format of the game he's not best suited to.

I've heard a few people champion his cause for the Test side (our own SJS, iirc, was extremely optimistic of his future ability.)

IIRR, Rohit Sharma's one-day average is higher than his First-Class one, which is exceptionally unusual.

Don't think his First-Class average is even much over 40 currently, which is wholly unexceptional by Indian standards (the good players almost all average over 50). I think Sharma's just more promise than deliverance currently.

Rohit averages a shade under 44 in FC, and 40 in domestic List A.

IMO Mubarak > Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma happens to be in a league below Mubarak even. Rohit Sharma & Mubarak have the same average - 24 in ODIs and both are specialist batsmen. In this year, Mubarak averages 72 & Rohit Sharma only 25. And out of these 2, Mubarak played a match-winning innings in the 5th ODI against India recently. Rohit Sharma is yet to play even a single match-winning innings in ODIs.
8-) Forget the CB series first final???

In the 5th match, it was no way Mubarak singlehandedly saved Sri Lanka. Rather Thilan Thushara who did that.

Must've had a few good FC games recently then. Last I looked it was something like 39 FC, 41 OD.

Is that OD record including or excluding international matches?
Excluding.

List A average is 33 iirc, as his poor to date ODI performances have dragged it down.
