What Is The Nickname Of The Sportsperson U Really Dig

International Coach
Harry Kewell - **** head :D (really don't like Leeds and the fact he might be going to Arsenal)

I don't have baseball mogul 2003. Never heard of it actually - might give it a look.

If you want a 'playing' game, you can't beat the High Heat series, endorsed by Slammin... I mean Suspended Sammy Sosa.

Bonds is immense, although hasn't got warmed up yet this season. Once I get home I'll be able to watch the twice weekly broadcasts on C5!

BTW Langeveldt I tend to use Yahoo! Sports and MLB.com to keep up with most of the baseball stuff.

Getting back to cricket, just remembered another Hants player - Spider Mullally.

I'm bored, so here are the nicknames of some Aussie cricketers (don't ask why I know them!) : Shane "Hollywood" Warne; Mark "Junior" Waugh; Ricky "Punter" Ponting; Colin "Funky" Miller; Glen "Pigeon" McGrath; Wade "Dos" Seccombe; Steve "Tugga" Waugh.

And before anyone asks, I read them somewhere completely by accident :P

And I always thought that it was Shane 'a bottle of those, please, Mr. Chemist. It's all right - my mum says so.' Warne

Or Tres thick, as once appeared on a scoreboard.

Somerset really ought to get some decent nicknames. Currently there's: Robbo; Burnsie; Coxie; Bully; Franco; Blackie.......have they no imagination? There may others I don't know about, but still.

Well we have them, but theres some sort of conspiracy preventing them from playing....

Liam, That nickname was given to him by angry supporters after he saved one of the tests against I think it was against SA by batting through the last two sessions in the 5th day to earn WI a draw....... obviously some people in the WI didn't like it because they throught he should've gone for victory as they were chasing...... but they ignored the fact that he didn't have a specialist batsman at the other end to support him as they all were out playing agressive rash shots, including Lara and Sarwan but not Hooper..... so he was left with the tail.

This came up in a Windies Message board among other funny nicks for McLean and Rose, I thought you(Liam) would know this.....

When was this Test? I have not recollection of it. Besides, two sessions makes you a turtle?

As said before, I don't remember that incident, but I do remember Chanders batting through the better part of two days for 120/130odd against India. The Test was dead for a draw by the 5th day and he scored around 40 or 50 runs all day long! All he did was block basically whereas Jacobs, who came in to bat early in the day, smashed his highest Test score (120odd I think). Jacobs' innings made Chanders look even worse.

That said, he seems to have picked up some aggression recently.

He can't hit one everyday....
Yeah I didn't realise his dad Bobby (also a ML great in his day) was battling cancer. Understandable if he is performing slightly below par (not that that seems to be the case).

What about Ian "Botham" Bell?

Liam:- This is the test:
WI vs. IND in WI, 2nd Test

Chaderpaul's intention was to save the test and draw or shield the tailenders after all the specialist batsmen got out,
IMO what he did was the right thing to do..... and thus I was against the nickname 'Turtle' for him.
What I was saying in earlier post was that the people who thought he should've gone for it are those who called him by the nickname.

I reckon he wasn't trying to draw the match, I think he was shielding the tailenders whilst scoring runs with two's and singles at the end of the overs, some ppl. thought he should've tried to smash the remaining 20-30 runs that were left to win the match.
