Adjusting averages

Interesting but highly flawed analysis. I have put my views among the comments under my name, which led to me and the author having quite a correspondence over email over simpsons paradox and stuff. Here Sachin is victim of him having simply played more matches and scored more runs against weaker teams. See my comments under the name Prasanth Nottath.

Seems similar to the ideas we see Days of Grace and Migara talk about...are they watching us again?

Working on my own formula of adjusting averages at the moment. A bit hit and miss, what works for some players, works against other players.

A bit simplistic for mine. For any statistic to be of note as far as I'm concerned, the complications of its calculations must be outweighed by the insight in its results - after all, the reason why overall averages, which we all love to argue about, have persisted is that they're so simple to figure out!

This doesn't offer anything particular insightful or new, and its methodology is also not the easiest thing in the world to follow.
