WordSnake - Cricket Version

Idea of the game is simple. Create the longest word you can consisting of cricket players' surnames.

Rules:

1. You can select any player who has played international cricket for his country in either Tests, ODI's or T20.

2. There must be atleast 2 letters common b/w one player's surname and the next players surname.

3. The common letters have to be caps-locked and on a new line to indicate two separate players names.

4. No player's surname can be repeated in the one snake, (E.g can't have Steve & Mark Waugh or AB de Villers & Fanie de Villers in the same snake)

5. Number of names is limited to 15 surnames otherwise this can go on infinitely.

6. Start with any player you want

For players of all countries except certain subcontinental players, please use surnames only.
E.g. Michael Hussey, Alastair Cook , Sachin Tendulkar

For some subcontinental players use their name on back of shirt:
E.g. Inzamaam Ul- Haq, Salman Butt, Aravinda de Silva, Harbhajhan Singh

Scoring system:
2 letters joined: 1 pt
3 letters joined: 3 pts
4 letters joined: 9 pts
After 4 letters, as the number of letters joined increase, the No of Pts increase by a factor if 3 i.e 5 - 27 pts, 6 - 81 etc..

So with only a maximum of 15 consecutive surnames allowed, try to maximise the points scored.

Sample Snake:
............................................................................... No of Common Letters...........Score
GilchriST.............................(Adam)............................. 2.........................................1
.........STackpoLE.................(Keith)..............................2..........................................1
......................LEWIS...........(Mick:ph34r: )...................3..........................................3
..........................WISHART...(Craig).............................4..........................................9
................................HARTlAND...(Blair).......................3..........................................3
.........................................ANDerson......(James)....................................................=17

I still had 9 more names I could have used, but this is just a sample to show how it works.

Go on, see if you can beat 17:)

That's all well and good but the rules clearly state limited to 15 names.

You scored 42 with your first 15.

Think that's right.
Hmmm... Bit puzzled as to how you went from Gatting to Martin, shouldn't you be starting with someone who's name starts in Ing ?

Oh and FINAL rule (I try to promise):

One person's name cannot be totally contained within another person's name.
I.e. CLARK (Stuart) cannot be succeeded by CLARKE (Michael) as CLARK is totally contained within CLARKE.

Sorry SJS, you made a great effort with RAJIN, RAJINDER & RAJINDERNATH but that's not allowed under the final rule

I can make more attempts and set records you guys cant touch but I am sure you will again make some new rule you just thought up so its not worthwhile wasting my time :)

Make do with what you have
