Who's guaranteed of their place in the side? There's Chanderpaul- who's batting is too important to give him the captaincy. Bravo- who already has an awful lot to do. Sarwan- who showed himself to be a very poor captain. And... Jerome Taylor. They wouldn't, would they?

Never expect the unexpected with West Indian cricket is a lesson of a learn, from picking players at random (like Fidal Edwards) to how they they perform on the field.

I'm pleased to hear that he has, he's in the top 2 or 3 captains in the world at the moment IMO.

Carlton Baugh hasn't played for WI for a while has he?

Courtney (no, no, sorry - Patrick) Browne has been the other wicketkeeper in the recent frame.

Always thought Baugh should have played more Test matches than he did TBH, excellent First-Class record last I looked (way better than Ramdin's has ever been) and only seemed to lose his place because of the contracts scandal of '05.

He was hopeless at ODIs though.

Yeah, Baugh hasn't played since November 2006 while Patrick Browne played a few ODIs against South Africa, Sri Lanka and Australia this year.

Ramdin'll be dropped soon TBH.
Ramdin is clearly the best wicketkeeper in the region. It would be a tragedy if he were dropped long term, because there's no significantly better batting wicketkeeper in the region. It's common sense.
