Yeah they were, and when Strauss caught de Villiers at slip it was the first time a left-hander had ever caught a #6 batsman at slip with his right-hand whilst standing on one leg

Or just claim that Garry Sobers was a crap bowler and ramble on about it for 10 pages without saying anything.

The first page sure made me dizzy...
    "Talent is nothing without opportunity"
"You're not remembered for aiming at the target, but hitting it"

    Twenty20 used to be boring.

Anil Kumble has the world record of the best Test batting average for a series (three Tests or more) as a whole when batting at number eight and just before being made captain for the first time in his career.

Oh god, everyone's turning into John Motson lately. Although it's still not as bad as the one that appeared in a cricinfo article (quite seriously) after the England-NZ Lord's test this summer:

"It is the first time that two opposing captains with surnames beginning with the letter 'V' have made it onto the Lord's honours board in the same day."

Can you please advise how you thought of the bettering your highest scores list.

It's just that I made a thread on a website a few days back and I just can't believe that this would be added on your site so soon after.

Please let me know if you found it on these forums, or if it's just a complete
    coincidence.

    Thank you,
    Rob

    Hi Rob,

It was a readers question to Ask Steven (from one Zain Karim on the 11th of July about Broad) so unless he was also involved in your thread, it's just a coincidence.

I believe Broad's efforts have been getting noticed by the mainstream press and TV, so I'd say we're not a hundred miles away from independently chasing the same idea.

    Cheers,

I guess Zain Karim, and whoever asked about de Villiers' duck record, and whoever asked about the transgender thingy, were all CricketWeb readers.

How's Kane Williamson doing? I would have thought that specialist batsmen who had difficult starts to their career but turned out to be really good would do best on such a metric. Crowe, Rutherford, Williamson for NZ.

Williamson made a ton on debut so he isn't going to be that high.

Didn't remember that haha. Also a high score of 242* is going to mean only one or two more beatings of the high score at the most.

    Jacques Kallis has improved, he's up to 11 (1,7,39,61, 101, 132, 148*, 160, 189*, 201, 224)

Anderson is now a good shout for someone who improved their batting over time but he had a high score of 34 for ages, which means he's only had 6 high scores.
Keep thinking it'll be alright if I just get on the road
If I run I can free my worried mind
Keep thinking of the day I die when I lose my heavy load
But I wouldn't want to leave you behind
