Anything that touched the ground would probably have won it for WA. It's pretty tough to keep batsmen who have nothing to lose from getting 2 in that situation, and at worst it would have been a tie. Horrible shot from Dorey.

Got them there though. Good game.

what a finish! but how could NSW lose 5 wkts at the death?

I' m also becoming a fan of Hauritz, he seems more of an attacking spinner than Cullen

That was our get out of free gaol card, the redbacks used it against us we used against wa,kregja and hauritz 3 each impressive.Hauritz must be turning up the heat on cullen for the world cup now whats that 9 from 4 or 5 games, and cullen hasn't bowled well since he has come back, and was hopeless in malaysia.
Gotta feel sorry for voges what a class act i never thought we were going to get him out,the selectors will be impressed with hoggy's innings.
Yes hoggy and north were not out but sean marsh was screw fox.

Yeah, Hauritz surely must be a big chance of making the world cup. He has a lot more confidence playing for N.S.W. now and is obviously getting the right coaching. Good to see. :)

Looks like Nathan Haurtiz might get a chance to make his FC debut for NSW. He just got named in our 12 man squad. Its a toss up between him, Nicholson and Bollinger for the last spot. They probably go for the two seamers, but with Mosies (injuried i think, surely they didn't drop him), they might go with Haurtiz as the 2nd bowling all rounder with Casson.

It looks like Ed Cowan might play his first game as opener for NSW, with them finally dropping Greg Mail, good times. :)

Also Tim MacDonald is replacing Brett Dorey, got 74 wickets last season in grade cricket over there. Meant to be a half decent bowler, hopefully for WA he isn't ****** like the rest of their quicks.

Here is the full story and squads

Dorey was named in the original line up for the game,he must have pulled out with injury then, good luck then too tim mcdonald if he does well dorey might not get back in.

Haha, is this post meant to be some sort of a sick joke?

Denton's having a tremendous season. Looked great in the one dayer I saw him in too. Too bad he's probably a bit old to have a chance at Australian selection, like Harwood last year.

Voges will play ODI cricket some time in the next year, IMO.
Good luck with that. He's good enough but the only batting position that is likely to become available in the next year is Martyn's after the world cup and Jaques should take that with Watson dropping to 4.

MacGill finding a bit of form in the shield. The Watson/MacGill sub for Clarke/Clark might have to wait until perth with Watson's fitness and the form of the other two in Brisbane.

2nd most wickets in the Ford Ranger Cup and the best performing spinner, can also offer something with the bat and from all reports he bowled pretty well today in the Pura Cup game also.

Id say Cosgrove would be ahead of him, alongside Brad Haddin who has been batting quite well this season.

From players not in the 1st test, would it be fair to say this would be the Aussie 2nd XI:

1. Phil Jaques
2. Chris Rogers
3. Brad Hodge
4. Marcus North
5. Shane Watson
6. Cameron White
7. Brad Haddin
8. Mitchell Johnson
9. Nathan Bracken
10. Shaun Tait
11. Stuart MacGill

We let WA get too many runs today we will have to bat well in the first innings maybe around 450/500.,with WA's bowling anything is possible, maybe it will be jaques day out.
On voges depends what they want as their extra batsmen for the world cup, haddin a batsmen keeper, white or voges batsmen spinners,or cosgrove batsmen/opener,or jaques or hayden just openers.Voges one day form has beenb awesome useful with the ball and has scored 2 100's in the pura cup, would just need to say he needs to do a bit more vaiety wise when batsmen go after his spinners, tight but a bit predictable.
