I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Katich, Clarke and Symonds combined = 1 decent spinner.

1. Hayden
2. Jaques
3. Ponting*
4. Hussey
5. Clarke
6. Katich
7. Symonds
8. Haddin+
9. Lee
10. Bracken
11. Clark

Or

1. Hughes
2. Jaques
3. Ponting
4. Hussey
5. Katich
6. Watson
7. Haddin
8. Smith
9. Lee
10. Bracken
11. Clark

Was going to just go an entire NSW line up, but hard to justify ****s like Thornely and Clarke.

We've seen New Zealand and India debut teenage spinners, Steven Smith is a teenage legspinner, therefore we should play him. Surprise packet. Will rip it up, IMO.

People forget Bollinger is pretty much the same age as Johnson and a much better FC bowler.

Would have Noffke and Bollinger - Casson is no better than Clarke.

That honestly is something I think might be the best option.

If Johnson is to go for the time being, and obviously Tait won't be back in the immediate future, I'd pick Bracken myself. Bollinger did not-all-that-much until last season and Noffke did superbly last season having done pretty well the season before that and poorly for the previous 3.

TBH, I'm beginning to think I may have been right to think Johnson got in when he shouldn't have done.

Noffke and Johnson, Johnson and McGain or Noffke and McGain, all are viable.

Incumbency suggests the second option, I guess.

I suggested this in the tour thread (or a varient there upon, with Noffke not Bracken) and was laughed at :(

Weird, three people have now suggested it (and as one of them - me - mentioned on the previous occasion, it is NOT something which has never done before, Australia picked three specialist bowlers in 1991 and 1996/97), and one person gets laughed down.

Who laughed BTW?

If they go by incumbency surely Casson won't be dropped for McGain. He didn't do THAT badly. Plus McGain is more than 10 years his senior. Strongly against the McGain case.
