Hogg would actually be a deserved winner here strangely enough - the guy was a champion at WCs.
I'll go for Warne, ahead of Hogg and Murali. Shan't get into the whole Warne vs. Murali debate again in order to justify why, besides noting that in considering WC matches only, as we are here, the statistics are even or technically slightly in Warne's favour, rather than the reverse. Plus Warne is a better batsman, so given they're pretty close in bowling terms, that might tip it. (of course, taking that rationale further, i should therefore select Hogg)...

Warne by a mile. Best overall record and best finals record. Most unbelievable performances in 1996 and 1999. Warne is God.
BTW Pasag, how much did Sanz give you to close that thread?

I think there'll sooner be another Bradman than another Warne. - Gidgeon Haigh [Warne is] the greatest bowler ever produced in this entire world - Muttiah Muralidaran [Warne is] the greatest bowler of all time - Glenn McGrath In my opinion Shane Warne is the greatest cricketer who's ever lived - Ian Botham Warne is the greatest cricketer to pick up a ball ever. And is the greatest bowler I have ever laid eyes on. - Brian Lara Last edited by Ikki; 03-06-2008 at 11:42 AM. |

It's 3am. I catch up most of my work late.
What're you doing up at 5am?Quote:
I was having a poke at Pasag, it didn't need to descend into this. Unfortunately, we have kids running around and mixing themselves up instead of deleting/merging and clearing threads. |
