gone for sachin and gilly. sorry saeed anwar. i really wanted to select you. bu i dont know how gilly would do lower down the order without field restrictions. and i simply cant not have him in any team.

Gone with Gilly and Jayasuriya, two of my favourite opening batsmen in the OD game.

Gilchrist and Tendulkar. Yin and Yang in a way. But both of the elite ODI fraternity. Simply the best openers of the game.

Sachin and Gilchrist.

They're the openers in my all-time ODI XI, so will obviously open in the WC.

See, I thought that too, but then I read the other thread.

please stick to stats pertaining to world cup games alone. we've had 9 tournaments so far with 5 different winners. and that should be enough to choose a solid team.
If we're only allowed to factor in World Cup games, I'd be inclined to go with Anwar ahead of Tendulkar.

Rather optimistic of the Poll setter to believe that people would only vote for two options when it's possible to vote for as many as you want.

well... this method has been working alright all these years.. i am sure the forum members will continue to maintain that standard...

who did you vote for, by the way?

Well, someone has already voted for all of them. When you set the poll you can set the number of votes it's possible to cast.

Tendulkar and Gilchrist.

If there are the odd few people who vote for everyone, it doesn't actually make any difference to the end result, just if people vote for more than 2, but less than all of them.

Obviously voting for everyone nullifies their own vote, but someone could for example vote for six options, someone else five and anyone else anywhere in between in which case the vote is skewed.

just for the batting without considering the playing X1 and all-round capabilities

Tendulkar & Lara
