Made the first call of Jones in this thread. I think that's a step toward a Bradman.
Sreesanth said, "Next ball he was beaten and I said, 'is this the King Charles Lara? Who is this impostor, moving around nervously? I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."

Thirdly and most important, the ODI has changed so much. back in the 80s 200-220 was a cmmon score and 250+ used to be a winning total, whereas now days 300-320s are common score.

However, Richards did score his runs faster and he didn't bat at the top of the order and the ODI game was different then, so its not a direct comparison. Compared to his peers, Richards scored his runs much faster, so that has to count in his favor.

In any case, I think Tendulkar should win it but Viv should be on his tail.
You realize I said exactly what you said in your reply to my post.

    Viv for me, just.

Sachin's the best I've seen, and I'm a huge Sachin fan like many other Indian supporters, but I think Viv was just that little bit better.

No, sorry, Jonathan Neil Rhodes is not even South Africa's best ODI batsman, never mind a top-tier (never never mind best-ever-candidate) batsman.

Not sure about Gibbs, but would have the rest of them without hesitation. And, yes, Gary Kirsten too.

What does winning the World Cup three times have to do with being the best batsman?
