According to cricinfo, the T20 CL will take place in England at the end of September/start of October. Silly idea IMO,that's bloody autumn and it rains enough here in the summer!!

Somethings got to give, I think if the powers that be decide 20/20 is the future then ODI's either have to go or drastically reduce the amount of games. My views are that 5-6 weeks during the summer in both hemispheres should be given to 20/20 cricket for all countries/players to make some money and the rest of the season for test matches.

AWTA. With all these T20 tourneys cropping up, ODI reduction is an absolute must. The main problem is we still need the ODI world cup, so we can't completely banish ODI's and some still have to be played as a valid form of practice for the WC. You can probably reduce all bilateral matches to 3 ODI's a tour (from 5 or the ridiculous 7), forget about CT, Asia Cup, every other trination tournament (Australia have made a start with ending the CB series) and have the only multinational ODI tournament be the WC. With the large scale reduction of ODI's, we should see the ODI specialists pull their finger out (Yuvraj!!) and either adapt to the longer form or the hit and giggle or be relegated to the domestic scene.

Meh, stupid idea, not that I care if a stupid Twenty20 tournament completely buggers-up the organisation, would bring it into line with the rest of the game, I guess it must've felt a bit left-out after the very well-organised event in South Africa recently.

BTW irfan - you should get the boss to change your posting-ID to Irfan. :p

It will be interesting to see which side a player choses if he is playing for more than one side in two countries and if both the sides make it to the CL for e.g. an Australian player whose IPL side is in the CL, along with his domestic Aus team

I believe than an annual T20 Champions League would be good but that the inagural World T20 should perhaps occur once every three or four years rather than two to help hold off saturation. Furthermore, I think that a global group of teams should be introduced, whereas a player cannot play for more than one Champions League team in the national competition.

Cricket Australia made sure there is restrictions the players contracts so they could only play for their Australia state sides. It was one of main subbling blocks to finalising Australian players contracts. CSA forced their players to come back on play for their franchises, so again it unlikey SA players will play for ICL sides. The main reason why English players aren't playing in the ICL, as County teams were put above potential IPL side on priority. So it unlikely any Australian, South African or English players will play for IPL sides over their home teams.

The big question though will be players from Sri Lanka, West Indies, Pakistan and New Zealand. Will they choice county sides over IPL teams. The likes of Morkel and Langer already have, but in Morkel case that was more to do with preference of FC cricket over T20, to increase his Test chances.

It's never too hot to play cricket in England (except 1976) and late September early October is likely to be pretty uncomfortable for the spectators temperature wise.
What, so you want it to be in complete hotness?
Excactly, so whats the point having a 20/20 cup in England. BTW remember the people who were dancing whenever a 4 or 6 happened, don't think they will be too proud dancing here
