Because there was also a blackwash in 1984, and midway through that series was the point when Botham's batting begun to stop being productive. His bowling had already done so quite a while before, but as pointed-out he had one last hurrah in the summer of 1985 when he was once more England's best bowler against Australia, though nowhere near as good as he had been 1977-1981.

botham by miles and miles, flintoff may have had his days but career-wise doesn't compare....
